The graduate student conference aims to provide a forum for Ph.D. students from Yale and elsewhere to present, discuss, and defend their research in a scholarly environment. In panel presentations and question-and-answer sessions, students will further develop the presentational skills and intellectual flexibility essential to their careers. It is meant to prepare students for professional conferences of the kind attended by faculty but in a lower pressure context.

The theme of the conference, ‘Displacements’, is intended to be as inclusive and current as possible in order to appeal to students working in a wide range of sub-fields within French and Francophone studies. This conference invites all graduate students pursuing high-level research in French and Francophone literature.
